I arrived in Beijing today. I’m going to spend a week here. It’s my third time this year. So far, there hasn’t beennothing different from the previous visits. But this weekend will be quite exciting. Tonight I’m going to take a night train to Xian with some friends. It takes 10 hours, I heard. Tomorrow morning, we’ll be in Xian and I’m looking forward to seeing the Terra Cotta Worriers. A colleague told me food is excellent there : )
This morning in Tokyo, I thought I would miss Narita Express from Shibuya. I had to wait for taxi for 15 minutes at the Route 246 and traffic was busy especially around Komazawa. I haven’t met a taxi driver who knows where Shibuya Shin-minimiguchi (new south exit) where you can get to a platform for NEX quickest and it was the same today. Anyways, I didn’t miss the train : ) And rest of the trip was easy. JAL’s e-check-in machine was quite nice. Some of them are located just next to the gate of the train station at Narita, Terminal 2. I checked in there (no queue) and went to luggage check-in counter at the departure hall. There was no queue there too though people were queuing for their own check-in at the other counters. I like e-check in! The flight time was only three hours. I was watching very interesting video, "Cracking Da Vinci Code" but I was too sleepy to finish watching. I’ll see the rest on the return flight.
今日北京に着いた。1週間の滞在予定。今年3度目の出張。ここまでは特にいつもと変わりなし。でも この週末はちょっといつもと違ってアドベンチャーになりそう。東京から来ている同僚（＝友達）たちと夜行列車に乗って西安まで行く。今日の夜出て10時間後（明日の朝）には西安に着くらしい。西安名物の兵士の石像（日本語でなんて言うんだ？？？）を見て写真を撮るのが楽しみ。さっき同僚が西安は食べ物もおいしいって教えてくれた。それも楽しみだ。
今朝東京を出るときは電車に乗り遅れるかと思った。（国道）246でタクシーを捕まえるのに 15分くらいかかったし、駒沢辺りは渋滞だった。成田エクスプレスに乗るときに一番便利な渋谷駅南口を知るタクシードライバーはほとんどいない。（っていうか一般にあまり知られていない）それは今日も同じで場所を説明するのにちょっと苦労した。とりあえずギリギリ間に合って その後は順調だった。JALのeチェックインにはちょっと感動。チェックイン機がJRと京成の改札を出たところにあってそこで簡単にチェックインできる。並ばなくてもいいし。荷物のチェックインは出発ホールなのだけれど 普通のチェックインカウンターには人が並んでいても 荷物だけのカウンターはがらがら。そんなわけであっという間にすべてのチェックインが完了。飛行機では "Cracking Da Vinci Code" を見ていた。日本語だったら ダ・ヴィンチ・コードの謎を解く みたいな感じだろうか・・・。ダ･ヴィンチ･コードファンの私、スクリーンに釘付けだったけど 朝が早かったので（そして夜も決して早くは寝てない）かなり疲れて眠ってしまった。3時間のフライトであっという間に北京到着・・・
