Having been recommended by my ex-manager, I chose an Italian restaurant, Don Corleone, in Kamppi shopping mall(Helsinki city center)to catch up with my ex-colleague who was visiting Helsinki on business from Tokyo. The restaurant had been almost always full when I tried to check out. But I thought we might have a chance to have a table as we got there before 6:00PM. It looked full but we noticed a group that got a bill. I told the waiter that we are two and could wait but another table was available anyway. So we got a table : )
Opening the menu, my instinct was already telling me that the food would be great. I really believe that my instinct works when it comes to food. When you have passion, your instinct works ;-) (well, the ex-boss recommended their food today though 😉 There were two pasta dishes which appealed to me a lot, spaghetti with mussels, something else and white wine sauce and spaghetti with whole shrimps and boletus mushrooms in garlic and white wine sauce. (I tried to get the right name from their web page and the latter one was exactly what I saw in the menu at the restaurant but the other one was not there …) but I chose the pasta with mussels(in the photo). Mussels are one of my favorite foods!
While we were waiting, some meat served to the people at the next table smelled so good! Our expectation got higher at this point : ) They were also having the spaghetti with whole shripms bla bla and I said "good choice!" in my mind. Then our dishes were served. As we expected, they were very good! Next time, I should go there with more empty tummy so that I can also try some appetizer and dessert! (I always think you can't say you ate Italian without eating dessertt but I was too full to have it this evening…)
As to price, it was quite reasonable. The spaghetti we ordered was about 15EUR each! The waitress wasn't that friendly as she was super busy having restaurant-full of customers. But it didn't bother me ; -) Food was good!
出張でヘルシンキに来ていた東京での同僚と夕飯でも食べようということになり Kamppiショッピングモール(ヘルシンキのシティセンター)にあるイタリアン、 Don Corleoneに行くことにした。元上司からいつも勧められていたけれど行ったことがなかったその店。いつも混んでいて また次回にするかと思うことがしばしば。でも今日は６時前にKamppiに着いたので入れそうな気がした。店に着いてみるとやはり満席の様子。が、会計をしてもらっているテーブルを発見。店の人に待ってもいいからと伝えると、実は別のテーブルが空いていた。ということでテーブルに着く。
メニューを見ると私の直感が働く。おいしいに違いないと思った。おいしいレストランを探す直感には自信がある。パッションがあると直感が働くのだ。（というっても今日は元上司のお勧めの店に行ったわけだが） 2つほどとても気になるパスタメニューを発見。ひとつはムール貝を使って白ワインで味付けしたスパゲティ。もう１つはまるごと海老とマッシュルームなどなどに白ワインとガーリックで味付けをしたスパゲティ。迷った末、ムール貝のスパゲッティ(写真）を選択。ムール貝は好きな食べ物の１つだ。
食事が出てくるのを待っている間、隣のテーブルの人が頼んだ肉料理がとてもいいにおいで気になった。この時点で私の期待はさらに上昇。隣のテーブルには私が迷っていた一品、まるごと海老のパスタ（ちなみに丸ごと海老の・・っていうのは 日本だったらそういう名前がつくだろうという私の想像）も。心の中で グッドチョイス！と褒めてみたり。ちなみにそのスパゲティはしょうゆで味付けをした和風スパゲティ的にも見えたりした。でももちろんしょうゆは使われていない。私たちにも料理が出されたが、想像通りとても満足 : ) 次回はもっとお腹を空かせてデザートにもトライしてみたい。（デザート食わずしてイタリアンを食べたとは言えないというのが私のモットーではあるものの今日はお腹がいっぱい過ぎた・・・）
ちなみに値段であるが私たちが頼んだスパゲティはそれぞれ15ユーロくらい。納得のいくリーゾナブルな値段ではないかと思う。満員の店を切り盛りしていたウェイトレスはあまりフレンドリーではなかったけれど、あまり気にならなかった。おいしかったしね。

One of the ten things I must have (could be more than 10 😉 is massage. I didn't think I could find such a great masseur in Helsinki since I knew, in Finland, massage is not as big thing as in Japan or China. But when I was walking on Frederikinkatu in July to check out the curtain shop my colleague recommended, I found the "PieniSpa". I wrote down the web address and immediately contacted the masseur.
I took aroma massage at my first visit and was so happy to be able to find the masseur. We talked about how I felt and how my body condition were and the masseur and I chose three different aroma oil. And..I could totally relaxed and the massage relieved tension of the muscle. I decided to go there every two weeks and have been doing so as long as I could make an appointment. Even though the masseur moved from Frederikinkatu to Toolo, I still go there. I went there last week and am going there this week (It doesn't sound like "every two weeks" though 😉
It's getting cold in Helsinki. (Actually it's winter for me!) Candle lights are beautiful in the room…

私にとってなくてはならないもの10個（たぶん10個以上あるが）のうちに入るのがマッサージ。でも正直ヘルシンキでそんなに上手なマッサージを受けられるとは思ってなかった。東京や中国とは事情が違う。が、7月に同僚に教えてもらったフレデリキン通りのカーテンの店に行く途中で見つけた PieniSpa （訳すと小さいスパかな。） 早速Webアドレスをメモして連絡してみた。
そして最初のマッサージ。アロママッサージを選んだ。マッサージ師の人と自分の体調や気分を話して、3種類のオイルを選んだ。マッサージで筋肉の緊張がうまい具合にほぐされてとてもリラックスできた。そんな素敵なマッサージを見つけられたのはとてもラッキー。2週間おきにマッサージを受けることにした。予約が取れる限り そうしている。そしてつい最近、場所がToolo に移ったのだが、もちろんそこに行っている。先週も、今週も・・・（2週間おきではないが・・・）
ヘルシンキはだいぶ寒くなってきた。（というか冬だ。）キャンドルライトが似合う季節だ。

Last weekend, I had a house warming party. We enjoyed making and eating sushi (in my and the friends' opinion, it was the best sushi in Finland 😉 and other food and drink. I quite liked the sparkling berry wine, Fresita, which a friend brought. It seems to have a lot of berries and tasted really berry. According to the friend, it got a good review by Helsinginsanomat (newspaper).
Friends bought me a lot of flowers and they have made me smile so many times since then. The sky was (AGAIN!) beautiful on the day!
先週末は 我が家のハウスウォーミング・パーティー。パーティーではおいしいお寿司を作れて大満足（私の中では、そし来てくれた友達の意見でも、あの日の寿司がフィンランドで一番の寿司;-)。お寿司以外にもいろんな食べ物や飲み物を楽しんだけれど、なかでもベリーのスパークリングワイン、Fresitaがとてもおいしかった。Fresitaを持ってきてくれた友人によるとヘルシンギンサノマット（新聞）においしいという記事が載っていたそうな。
友達がたくさんの花を持ってきてくれた。それから部屋できれいな花を見るたびにスマイリーな気分になった。そしてパーティーの日は（またまた！）空がきれいだった！

I was net-surfing and watching Finland-Sweden ice hockey match at the same time. When I looked out of the window, I jumped up out of the sofa and picked up the camera. The sky was fascinating!
ネットサーフィンしながらフィンランド対スウェーデンのアイスホッケーの試合を見ていたのだが・・・ ふと窓の外を見ると・・・ソファーから飛び上がるようにして立ち上がってカメラを手にした。空が息を呑むくらいきれい！
