Under the perfectly blue sky, we enjoyed the music sitting only 1-ish meter way from the trio of Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

We’ve had lovely weather in Helsinki for two weeks or so. On one of such beautiful days, I joined a tour to the Nuuksio national park , which is located only 45-minute drive away from Helsinki. Though I could go there using public transportation at any time, it was nice to have mini bus transportation from Helsinki city center and a guide who knows all about the national park.
Our guide, Olli, brought Kuksa (the cup traditionally crafted by Sami people in Lapalnd) for us to put berries and later drink coffee. We walked something like 3.5 km picking up berries (blueberries and lingonberries) and mushrooms and listening to Olli’s explanation about trees, flowers, lakes, berries, mushrooms…
It was a wonderful day with Olli and other participants, a Finnish lady, two gentlemen from Ireland. They were all nice to walk and talk together 🙂
My kind of place! In the evening of the Night of the Art, I was glad to find the Viherbaari (green bar) by Järvikylä. It was decorated with Järvikylä’s products, i.e. veggies and herbs which I buy quite often. I love green leaves for my meals. The place was lovely (and healthy) with a lot of greens from the ceiling, floor and on the tables. I just loved the colors, mainly green and white, and the atmosphere. The staffs were making green juice and smoothies for us to taste.
I hadn’t known about the place and hoped it would stay there as a smoothie bar but later found out that it’s only a pop up place to exhibit art + herbs and salad from 18-22 August, unfortunately. But I hope Järvikylä will do it again and actually sell healthy and tasty smooties in the future. #vihervoimaa
