Went to see a film, "Land of Plenty". The title clicked in my mind. I didn’t know much about the story even when I entered the cinema. I knew it was not love comedy though.

A 20-year old American girl who grew up in Africa and Israel came to California to find her uncle. It wasn’t about her adventure to look for the uncle. Through their experience and people they met, the film showed me 9.11, Vietnam War, Israel & the Palestinians, drugs, poverty even in the Land of Plenty (USA), etc. It made me think about the tragedy that is happening all the time all over the world. At the same time, I was impressed by the girl who was praying for love and peace.

I took the picture in the Land of Plenty. Couldn’t find any other picture taken in America in my PC.

今日は　 "Land of Plenty" という映画を観に行った。タイトルに惹かれたのだけれど内容についてはあまりよく分からないまま映画館に向かった。ラブコメじゃないことだけは分かっていたけど。

アフリカとイスラエルで育った２０歳のアメリカ人の女の子が伯父を探しに故郷アメリカに渡る。でも伯父さん探しの旅の話じゃない。彼らの見ること、やること、そして出会う人々を通して　9.11、ベトナム戦争、イスラエル・パレスチナ問題、麻薬、豊かな国アメリカにですらある貧困などを垣間見る。今この瞬間にも世界中のいろんな場所で起こっている悲惨な出来ごとや状況について考えさせられた。そして同時に愛と平和を祈る女の子の姿にも感銘を受けた。

写真は豊める国、アメリカで撮ったもので　唯一私のＰＣの中で探せたもの。

I went to see a film with a friend. The elevator to the cinema in the shopping center at Shinyurigaoka was busy. When weather is not very nice, combination of cinema and shopping center is one of the best things to do, I guess.

We saw Japanese dubbed version of "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory". First time to see dubbed version of any film and I wasn’t sure whether I would enjoy it or not. But in the end, it didn’t matter.

There were a lot of kids in the cinema as the film was about a boy who went to the chocolate factory. I thought I might get bored but I didn’t. I have to say it wasn’t for kids but for adults. I think kids couldn’t understand it much. They might have been really scared seeing some weird scenes.

I don’t say the film was my favorite but enjoyed it. After the film, we went to outside cafe. Fortunately, it wasn’t raining while we’re there. We enjoyed looking at the sky　(again different face of the sky!) and coffee & sweets. I didn’t have Canon today but took a picture of the sky by Nokia. No good quality again 😉

今日は友達と一緒に新百合で映画を観た。あまり天気のよくない週末、マイカルはかなり混んでた。

チャーリーとチョコレート工場の吹き替え版を観た。映画館で吹き替えの映画を観るのは初めてなのでどーなのかな　って思ってたけどそんなことはあまり関係なく楽しめた。

チョコレート工場に行く男の子の物語なので子供もたくさんいて　もしや私は退屈してしまうような話なのか・・・なんて心配してたけど　そんなこともまったくなかった。ってゆーか　（なんて）子供には意味が分からないだろうなーと思った。それどころか奇妙なシーンがトラウマになっちゃうんじゃないかとすら思った。

私のタイプの映画ではなかったけれど十分楽しめた。映画のあとでお茶をした。外のテーブルに座れたので（テーブルに座る？　変だけど　そう言いたい）空を眺めて楽しんだ。雨がちな１日だったけどカフェにいるときはちょうど雨があがっていた。今日もまた特別な感じの雲だった。もちろんコーヒーとスイーツ（今風な表現だとこーだよね）もniceだった。今日はデジカメを持っていなかったので携帯での雲撮影。相変わらず低いクオリティなのだった。
