Autumn Color – 秋の色

Rastila and Kulosaari, Helsinki.

雨降りの日が続く今年の秋。おととい久しぶりに晴れたけれど、昨日はまた雨。

This autumn has been extremely rainy but today, it was sunny and golden-colored leaves were lovely. Luckily, I got a ride to Rastila in the eastern Helsinki and enjoyed beautiful autumn colors and lovely cafe.

それでも今日はまた太陽が顔を出し、黄金色の紅葉がキラキラに。運良く車を出してくれる人がいて、ヘルシンキの東の端のほうにあるRastilaへ。

Cafe MONAMI is in the old manor located in the same area as camping site. It used to be our favorite gourmet restaurant but we got to know it had been closed when we read about the new cafe in the paper.

目的は新しくできたカフェ、Cafe MONAMI。Rastilaのキャンプ場と同じ敷地にある元マナーハウスがカフェになっている。以前はここが超おいしいレストランだったのだが、新聞でこのカフェが紹介されているのを見て、レストランはなくなったんだな～と気づいた。

The cafe was cozy and lovely, especially with the light and autumn colors through the windows.

カフェは素敵にまったりした感じで、今日のように晴れた日はなんともよい雰囲気だ。外の紅葉の風景もカフェから楽しめる。

カフェでコーヒーを飲んだ後は、紅葉の中をドライブ。

After having coffee, we drove in the autumn colors.

The pink manor in Kulosaari was cute.

Kulosaariのピンク色のマナーハウスもキュートな感じだった。

It was relaxing and lovely Sunday afternoon.

Theme Color is Green – Helsinki

I was very excited about pink of sakura(cherry blossoms) at the beginning of the week. But today, theme color was green. I was amazed how beautiful Helsinki looks with the abundant green (and yellow) and the sunshine 🙂

Yellow carpets in the Kaisaniemi botanical garden were lovely <3

Tulips were cute.

It wasn’t something I had planned to do today but I happened to walk in front of the garden. How lucky I was!

Autumn Leaves

A national holiday. Even though a headache was bothering me, I couldn’t resist the feeling that I want to see autumn leaves. In the afternoon, I took train to Gaienmae. Gaien-dori is famous for the ginkgo trees which leaves turn beautifully yellow in autumn. (People might say it’s already winter now though.)

What impressed me more than the colored leaves was a lot of people. A lot, a lot, a lot of people with cameras & mobile phones everywhere. The leaves were not very yellow yet. I still took some pictures of ginkgo trees trying to learn exposure. I’d like to go there again maybe next week to see really yellow leaves. I should remember to choose the time when not many people are going there. Is there any time like that???

今日は勤労感謝の祝日。頭痛に悩まされてはいたけれど　どうしても外苑の紅葉を見たくなった。午後になってから外苑前まで出かけた。外苑通りの銀杏の紅葉は都内では１，２を争うほど有名だ。

でも　その紅葉より何より私が驚いたのは紅葉を見に来た人の多さだった。ほんとに人が多くてごった返してた。もちろんみんなカメラや携帯を持って。銀杏はまだそんなにきれいに金色になっていたわけではなかったけれど私も持っていったカメラで写真撮影。少しだけ露出の調整を練習してみた。

来週あたりもう一度行ってみようかと思ってる。きっともっときれいに金色になった銀杏を見ることができるに違いない。でも　人の少ないときを狙っていかなければ・・・　そんなときはあるのだろうか・・・？
